THE PULL OF THE TIDE

via Daily Prompt: Tide

Tide

The tide so fiece, emboldened
It got ahold of me
I felt the surge, the force
It pulled me out to sea.

No chance to swim away
No hope of breaking free
I was captured, overtaken
No one to rescue me.

I saw the face of darkness
I felt it swirl about
The sound so loud, like thunder
No point in crying out.

The salt and sand engulfed me
It had filled my every pore
The stinging, gritty liquid
Consumed me to the core.

Though I struggled, I was helpless
So unimaginably immersed
I had been pulled so far from home
I was fatally pulled off course.

The tumbling, the turning
My lifeless, now twisted corpse
Had succumbed to death, no mercy
Such a firece, unyielding force.

      1. I always visit. I broke my glasses so until they are fixed, I’m having a difficult time of it,but I still have to try! And I can make the screen 3 inches high if I have to so I can still see. Just tiring on the eyes hehe
