WORK YOUR MAGIC

Please wave your magic wand
Erase the memories
Remove the thoughts and playbacks
That have a hold on me.

So interwined and tangled
Like twisted vines of weathered rope
They hold me tight, I can’t move
I’ve lost all sense of hope.

So long ago I faltered
I made some dumb mistakes
I can’t go back and change them
Why can’t I catch a break?

Consumed and over-taken
By a lingering dark cloud
It hangs right there above me
Like a web…. a dark gray shroud.

Please can’t you work your magic?
Please conjure up a spell
Take away the nightmares
Of this constant living hell?

Release me from this prison
I’m plagued with guilt and blame
We all deserve a second chance
To make things right again.
