THE MERMAN’S KINGDOM

Beyond the shoreline
Of the ocean, resides
A handsome merman
And his beautiful bride.

Her fiery red hair
Her emerald eyes
Her sparkling gills
As blue as the skies.

His dark hair and eyes
His turquoise fin
Sets him apart
From other mermen.

They live in a castle
With sea horses and knights
Protected by sharks
All day and all night.

Sea dragons abound
Bat fish and eels
You can hear them at night
They screech and they squeal.

On special occasions
They can be seen
On top of the water
Or within my dreams.

The kingdom before them
Filled with creatures galore
There you will see
Stingrays and more.

The colorful coral
The shells large and small
Make up a fortress
Comprised of them all.

A magical waterscape
Deep down below
With fish fins that glitter
That sparkle and glow.
