I wasn’t miserable enough
Until I talked to you
I wasn’t feeling sad enough
Not nearly thru and thru.

The weakness I professed
Was never meant to be
You saw the worst inside
The worst things about me.

I see there in the mirror
Aging at a rapid pace
The wrinkles are in excess
Showing clearly on my face.

The time is passing by
It’s all a senseless scam
After all that I’ve worked for
I’m left with who I am.

A bitter hopeless man
With nothing more to give
No reason to go on
No reason left to live.

  1. Thank you for sharing!.. one needs to stop looking in the mirror and follow ones heart… 🙂

  2. Yes, it’s sad! He had given up. He just couldn’t find the strength…. to go on. A sense of self worth is sometimes …..hard to maintain! He was hurting. That’s for sure!
Thank you for reading my poem and for commenting! 💙
