SLIGHT OF HAND

Rocket launch

Fueled, engaged
Moving at the speed of light
Breaking every barrier
A thief moves thru the night.

Lightning round
Flashing lights
Blinded by adoration

Unaware till it’s too late

His propensity for degradation.

Sights and sounds
Music, fame
Lights flashing on the wall
Anyone that knows him well
Can’t wait for him to fall.

Slight of hand
Drug of choice
Spilled out onto the floor
There’s no way to pull him back
Always demanding more!

Lightning strikes
Deep within
Deep with in her mind

Suddenly, can see the light

She’s clearly changed her mind.

Out the door
Down the stairs
Keys left upon the table
No safety net, no parachute
She leaves, while she’s still able.
