ST. ANTHONY

Thanks given to St. Anthony
For finding things I’ve lost
My patron saint, my hero
The keeper of my cross.

I lost it on vacation
I prayed I’d get it back
St. Anthony works miracles
Was found …. up near the tracks.

Off walking with my cousin
We were playing, fooling round
The clasp broke without notice
It fell…fell to the ground.

I posted signs all over
“Please help me find my cross!”
I offered a reward, of course
But, it was gone…was lost!

A phone call from the motel
Had surly made my day
My cross was there, it had been found
I gave thanks to God and prayed.

A little boy was walking
Near the tracks, where we had been
He saw it there, he picked it up
While walking with his friend.

St. Anthony had intervened
He brought me from despair
Once again I realized
The power of my prayers.
