THE DAFFODILS

The flowers surfaced
Though winter still
The ground gave way 
Against its will!

Still cold and hard
A dusting of snow
The daffodils found
Somewhere to go.

Up through the ground
They found their way
A flowering sprout
Just made my day.

The air is brisk
They must be cold
Standing there 
Beside the road. 

A sight to see
To inspire
Winter now
Will soon retire. 

A glimpse of Spring
A sight to see
Two daffodils
Such joy, such glee.

      I was talking to a childhood friend, yesterday. He now lives in
      Arkansas. 🙃
      He told me that two daffodils had come up in his yard. A pleasant surprise! That was my prompt!
      Brrrrrr!!!! Snow is on the way! 🌨️
      I’m in Hudson, New York right now. Planning to head back to Florida, on Monday or Tuesday… weather permitting! 🚙

      1. And a great inspiration it was! Methinks you should have gone back to Florida a bit sooner before the snow! But … perhaps you can have some fun — a snowball fight or build a snowman! Safe travels when you do go back. 💗

      2. Have too many loose ends here! The lease is up on the 15th. Packing now!
        Having some last minute fun with friends, before going back to Florida! The politics there are out of control!!!! DeSantis is nuts!!! Banning books, trying to alter history, etc.. May sell our condo and relocate back to New York. Hudson is a very artsy town! Lots of cafes , great restaurants and galleries! Rainbow flags line the Main Street! 🌈

      3. Ahhhh … I understand! Yes, I don’t think I could ever live in Florida, at least not while DeSantis is running it, but I do wish you good luck there. Perhaps you can help convince Floridians to oust DeSantis!!! Hmmmm … Hudson sounds like my kind of town! I was there a few times as a young child, but … no real memories of it, and that was in the 1950s, so I’m sure much has changed since then!
