MY FUR BABY

Six Sentence Prompt: HEART

When I got you as a little puppy, I knew that I was really lucky!

Now my heart is broken in two!  I can’t stop crying, stop missing you! 

That all encompassing, unconditional love…. 

was everything, was more than enough. 

I can’t stop this flow of tears, wishing you were still right here. 

But they said, “it’s for the best…… to let you go, to let you rest”.

  5. Surely the most awful acts of love, those of use fortunate enough to enjoy such a relationship, are called upon to offer. The loss is tempered by the fact that the pain is, in fact, the mortal reflection of the time we’ve spent with these perfect lifeforms.

    Truly a terrible responsibility, yet would we do any less (would we really want to) when they need us at such a time?

    1. Thank you! I appreciate your thoughtful comments! She meant everything to me! It is a profound loss! But, I didn’t want her to suffer! We stand by and watch our human loved ones suffer on breathing machines with lines here and there… anything to prolong their life. We should be able to let them pass as
      comfortably and painlessly as we do our furry loved ones! She gently went to sleep and passed over the Rainbow Bridge. I was lucky to have shared the past 15 years with her! 💜

  9. It’s the hardest and most selfless decision you can make. Our children outlive us because we teach those of our own species to live without us, we outlive our fur family because we teach another species to live with us.

    No matter how long we have them, it isn’t long enough. Please accept my condolences on your loss.
