FAME

The two of you together
So many photographs
You wrap your arms around her
But, this will never last.

A fortune teller? No, I’m not
But, I’ve seen this all before
Give it six months to a year
And she’ll walk out the door.

Swimming in the deep end
Always in over your head
Stop picking all the hot ones
The ones so hard to get.

A mass of warm intentions
Over takes that part of you
You’re out of touch, now mesmerized
Can’t really think it through.

If only you could see it
She just wants a slice of fame
A chance at notoriety
For her it’s just a game.

The bracelets and the earrings
Back stage Dom Perignon
The limousines, the glitter
Everyone is getting stoned.

But, just like all the others
You’ll be hanging on too tight
When she decides she wants to go
You’ll beg her ….. to spend the night.

I’ll read it on your time line
Instagram and Facebook, too
Everyone will talk about it
They’ll know she walked out on you.
