EXPECTATIONS

An offering, a suggestion
Never heeded, perhaps scorned
Rarely appreciated
More than likely just ignored.

A problem that needs solving
Immersed in waves of change
Too much to have to deal with
One would rather just complain.

So many expectations
With a sense of gloom and doom
A simple resolution
Would require a different tune.

All the repetition
Rehashing of events
Up half the night re-calling
All the while …. it makes no sense.

A helping hand, a leg up
An attempt to make things right
So seldom met with gratitude
By someone so uptight.

A possible solution
Not what you want to hear
Wallowing in misery
Your manifesto is quite clear.

Anxiety provoking
Can’t help but stoke the flame
If only you could get a grip
You’d know …. I’m not to blame.
