Down to the beach
You take your board
It’s heavy, strong
Sleek and hard.
You paddle out
Passed the break
You’ll wait as long
As it will take.
The perfect wave
With force, slight curve
The thrill to feel
One with the surf.
So skillfully
You stand so tall
So careful now
Don’t want to fall.
The wind felt now
Upon your face
You glide with ease
With skill , with grace.
Seconds, minutes
Cherished time
The thrill , elation
One of a kind.
The rush, the surge
The surfers’s high
Beckons you
To want to try.
Another wave
Unlike before
Higher, taller
So much more.
You crave the thrill
Body and soul
It makes you feel
Complete, now whole.
A day spent
At the beach, so grand
To feel the water
Touch the sand.
Another chance
To ride the waves
No better way
To spend your days.
Your prayer, your solace
To be at one
With God, the ocean
And, the sun.
