My heart pounding, alarms are sounding
Yet, nothing’s stopping him
No repercussions, no consequences 
He walks away… again.

A dark, grey cloud, steamrolls in
Leaving chaos in its wake
No one questions, no objections
Oh,  what a mess he’s made.

Hands are tied…. behind our backs
The judges ….  on his side
He’s lawless, no regard for rules
It’s enough to make you cry. 

Nothing sticks, laws don’t apply 
All charges swept away
No accountability, no point
He always gets his way.

Principles and virtues
For him … they don’t exist 
Wasting time and energy
Still trying to resist.

Brought to court, the case was heard
Fount guilty on all counts
34 felonies …. he was charged
Yet, still gets what he wants. 

The MAGA cult elected him
Along with billionaires
Nothing that he wants to do
Is legal or deemed fair. 

Have to conclude… he has a pact
Gave into Satan’s call
Signed away his heart and soul
So he could have it all.

The plow down the street
Piled up the snow
I can’t move my car 
I may need  a tow.

Walked down ….  to my neighbor’s
To ask him for help
Can’t get my car out
Can’t do it myself. 

He has tools and shovels
He’ll know what to do
My car’s stuck in snow
We got a foot, or two.

How about some hot water
To pour on the windshield?
He said , “No…. the glass would shatter!
It would crack and break the seal!”

How about we go inside
Come on  ….. let’s take a break
Take off our coats  and boots
We’ll eat some muffins that I baked. 

There’s hot chocolate on the stove
It sure smells awfully good
Let’s sit down by the fire
Let’s go inside, I think we should. 

Our cheeks are rosy red
Our  lips are turning  blue
It’s  time to go warm up
That’s what we need to do.

Those early days
So madly in love
Thought God sent an angel
From heaven above.

But, after awhile
If the truth be known
I  longed for the days
When I lived alone.

The newness wore off
I began to complain
Couldn’t help myself
From feeling distain. 

The snoring, the gagging
The passing of gas
The belching at dinner
He surly lacked class. 

Blinded by lust
Thought I was in love
But, what  I was feeling
Just wasn’t enough. 

The cap off the toothpaste 
His pants on the floor
No flowers or candy
From him anymore. 

No wining and dining
After dinner … TV
Seems he had lost interest
Lost interest in me.

His friends would come over
Watch the 4 o’clock game
They’d hoot and they’d holler
I never complained.

I’d order them wings
A sub and some pizza
Anything else?
He’d say, “ No, we don’t need ya!”

I filed for divorce
The papers were signed
Celebrating my freedom
With a bottle of wine.

Why can’t you see through
The lies he told you?
The promises made
All the hate and the rage?

Why can’t  you believe
In this time of great need?
He is  damaged, unkind
He is out of his mind.

So crass and so loud
That’s all he’s about
He needs the applause
Says he’s building a wall.

Repeat and repeat
Things that simply aren’t true
If he says them enough 
He’ll convince even you. 

He is weak, thinks he’s tough
Full of bluster and bluff
Wants to control
He is callous and bold.

Out for the money
The power, the fame
Scamming and taking
The name of his game.

I pray to God
Every morning and night….
Help us thru these dark times
Please show us the light.

Can’t take anymore 
Of his lies and his scams 
He’s the devil incarnate
A sad, heartless man.

Cocktails under
Striped umbrellas
Filled with ice
Top shelf, they tell us.

Sitting by
A cozy fire
I fell asleep
Yes, I was tired.

Can’t decide
Just where to go
Beach or mountains
Sand or snow?

Summers north
So beautiful
I hate the heat
Guess, I’m no fool.

Beach fun
Part of one’s vacation
A mountain view
True relaxation.

Waking up….. the flood gates open
Anxiety…. from  all that’s broken

Just getting in
Took off my shoes
I won’t wake him.

Sleeping on
The couch again
Been out all night
With my best friend.

Don’t want to get
The third degree
I’m sure he
Waited up for me.

Can’t take the stress
Not what I need
Wish he would go
Or I should leave.

He’s not the one
Tired of pretending
Not looking for a

Kind and sweet
A real nice guy
Tries so hard
But, yes….. I lie. 

Won’t make a move
He’s  in denial
Won’t face the truth

No protection
We’re under siege
Where’s the objection?

Take up the cause

The government

To tear apart 
Down to the bone.

No respect
For rules or laws
Out of control
Without due cause.

Shakes and shivers
Cause they’re  takers
None are givers. 

Scared of where
This all will lead
He is evil
Filled with greed. 

The weak will suffer 
The rich prevail
Why  can’t they put
This man in jail?

Children starving
Around the globe
They’ve been cut off
Because of DOGE. 

The billionaires
Like Elon Musk
An evil man
We cannot trust. 

Call Washington 
Your Congressman
We must fight back
Get rid of them.

I want more financial freedom
Some money just for me
Don’t want  to ask permission 
Looking for autonomy.

Make my own decisions
Decide things for myself
Tired of all the censorship
Don’t always want your help.

Not saying I’m not grateful
You are wise beyond your years
But, when I want to buy something
I shouldn’t quake in fear. 

Must account for every penny
No money of my own
Every dime and every nickel
No checks are mine alone. 

Nice to have someone in charge
Yes, you pay all of our bills
But, I don’t like to ask
I want to spend some cash at will.

Not planning a big purchase
Just a few bucks here and there
Wouldn’t go hog wild …you know it
You know that I’d never dare. 

But, you  can use a credit card
Never asking for permission
Me? I check in with you
Then endure an inquisition. 

So… no more harboring resentment 
No more anger to  repress
It’s all there up on the table
My concerns now off my chest.
