TRAPPED

Trapped inside a memory
The memory of you
Fantasies I can’t escape
I don’t know what to do.

Wrapped around my heartache
As you held me in your arms
Remembering your lips on mine
Your unabashed sweet charms.

Lying next to you at night
Thinking I’d never love another
Perfect rhythm, perfect rhyme
For me they’d be no other.

Promises you knew were lies
Still your words so easily spoken
Were never meant to hold you back
Like my heart, so easily broken.

Before I had a chance to blink
You found someone new
I was left for years to come
Still in love with you.

The pain and heartache lingers on
Even after all this time
So hard to face the painful truth
Your memory plagues my mind.
