STEP UP

Step up, don’t settle
Or sell yourself out
You are worth more
Than your fears and your doubts.

Your wit and your charm
Your thoughtful ways
Hold yourself back
Don’t give it away.

You can do better
Set the bar higher
Stop wasting your time
When you know she’s a liar.

Stop being so needy
Stop begging for more
Show her your strength
Then show her the door.

Stand up and push back
She’s not for you
You need someone
That’s honest and true.

She’ll take what you give
She’s not a fool
She’s plotting and planning
She knows what to do.

Working you over
With crocodile tears
Gaining your sympathy
Over the years.

While you’re at home crying
She’s out on the town
You know that she’s out there
Out playing around.

Your buddies are laughing
Your family’s confused
They hate watching you
Being used and abused.
