Your excuse, so luminescent
A story he saw right thru
But he chose to turn a blind eye
Thought he was in love with you.
Nothing that you’d do or say
Would ever be in question
He accepted all your whining ways
Your migraines and depression.
Going here, going there
Wondering where you are
Coming home at 4 a.m.
After being out at bars.
Dancing and carousing
Cavorting with other men
Lying and telling stories
When asked….where you have been.
Driving while intoxicated
Drinking beer and wine
Dancing till the light of day
Downing shots with lime.
One day he’s going to catch you
In the arms of someone new
That’s the day that he will say
He’s had enough of you.
