MY COUSIN

via Daily Prompt: Mallet

Mallet

My cousin took a mallet
And hit me in the head
I fell to the ground
They thought that I was dead.

The blood around me puddled
My sister started to scream
My cousin was a little brat
As you can see, was kinda mean.

He ran around in circles
Shouting, Johnny went to heaven
He appeared to be quite happy
He had recently turned seven.

Somewhere in his twisted mind
Thought he was doing me a favor
Giving me a send off
A chance to see our savior.

After years of meds and therapy
My cousin came around
Now somewhat successful
The best lawyer in our town.

After forty-seven stitches
Time spent in the ICU
I made out all right, I guess
Just a little black n blue.
