“So sorry for your loss”
Those words ring in my ears
Nothing can be said
To ever stop the tears.
No one will ever know
The pain you felt inside
The emptiness, the sadness
The need to say, “goodbye”.
Your family looks for answers
Trying hard to understand
Was there something they could do
To thwart your final plan?
The heartache and deep sadness
The relentless hurt and shame
The burden of the pain you felt
The underlying blame.
There was no explanation
From the outside looking in
You seemed to have it all
Why did it have to end?
The missing puzzle pieces
The answers we’ll never know
Will plague me in the dark of night
Why did you have to go?

I remember like it was yesterday when my cousin took his own life at the age of 15 decades ago. You capture the feelings spot on.

Patty, Patty, Patty.
Great job, per your usual…a little depressing though.

Thank you for sharing!.. one becomes a memory, lives in heart and the heart goes on!.. 🙂
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glints in the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaking in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die

Don’t feel sorry at all. Your writing was able to reach into the depths and that is a wonderful thing. When you can move people to feel, that means you’ve accomplished what you set out to do. Great writing.
