CUTTING TIES

Broken, cracked and shattered
Pieces scattered on the floor
Too many confrontations
Can’t take it anymore.

All the accusations
Finger pointing and abuse
Giving up on trying
Trying… to get through to you.

Years of ridicule and falsehoods
Always someone else to blame
All the lies and misconceptions
All the sadness and the shame.

They say,”Blood’s thicker than water”
That family should come first
But, you’re never there… when needed
Always making matters worse.

Won’t be calling you to help me
No more texts sent to your phone
No more senseless conversations
I’ll be leaving you alone.

Cutting the ties that bind us
Nothing left for me to do
You crossed the line too many times
I’m finally done, I’m through.
