A LITTLE GRATITUDE

A rainy, cold, gray Saturday
Not going to get dressed
Staying in my sweats all day
Remaining in my bed.

Going to eat sugar
Hot chocolate filled with FLUFF
Stuff my face with lots of carbs
My work week had been rough!

Too many hard fast deadlines
So many expectations
No “Thank You’s or Apologies”
Too many confrontations.

Seems I can’t do any  better
Seems I can never do enough
Could use a little gratitude
Or a ,  “Thank you very much!”

Thinking about just quitting
Is it worth it at my age?
What’s the point in working?
Should enjoy my final days.

I like to read and travel
After work I’m too damn tired
Can’t enjoy my weekends
Maybe I should just retire.

  2. When I worked a high stress job, starting in my 50’s I’d get in bed on Saturday. I called them crash days. I did retire but now say retirement is highly overrated. Fortunately I discover writing which keeps me sane. . . just saying, Claudia
