A BIT OF MAGIC

PROMPT: MAGIC

Out of a notion
A prayer, nothing more
There you appeared
You stood at the door.

Perhaps an illusion
Perhaps a dream
Sent down from

the heavens
Upon a moonbeam.

The magic, the shimmer
The look in your eyes
Overwhelmed with delight
I started to cry.

A hand full of tokens
Some vapor and mist
A hope meant to conjure
A miracle, a wish.

I knew that you’d come
I waited, I knew
I knew it would happen
I knew I’d see you.

As I imagined
A vision of light
I hoped and I prayed
With all of my might.

Got to tell you…. I loved you
Got to tell you…. I cared
I wasn’t afraid
I was happy, not scared.

You didn’t stay long
But, a minute or two
I was grateful, so happy
To spend time with you.

  1. Hi, Jill! Thank you! Glad you liked my poem,
    A BIT OF MAGIC.
Went to a JUDY COLLINS concert last night in Orlando. She’s 85! She was amazing!
4th row, center seats! Got the tickets two years ago. She had to cancel twice! Once because she had gotten sick and last year …. because she fell and broke her arm! She appeared somewhat fragile. 😢 Hard to believe ….she stood for over an hour in one position…. holding and playing a 12 string guitar…. without taking a break! I started crying when she played , CLOUDS!
Fond memories of sitting on the floor in my room as a teenager …. playing her WILDFLOWERS album. Last night was
    incredible, a true….. BIT OF MAGIC! 💜
