PLEASE ….NO!

Should we put our dog to sleep?
Are they sure it’s time?
She can’t hear, but she can see
At least, she isn’t blind!

Restless and uncomfortable 
She moves from place to place 
Just can’t seem to settle down
Such sadness on her face. 

No longer has an appetite
What is that crusty scab?
We haven’t seen that one before 
That new one that she has.

The Vet has tried his very best 
Nothing more that he can do
Our  hearts are breaking every time
He says ,”It’s up to you!”

I can’t do it…can’t let her go
So much that she’s been through 
She’ll always be…. My Baby Girl
Though they say…. she’s 92. 

I know we need to let her rest
She’s tired … it’s plain to see
Time for me to say “Goodbye”
To stop thinking about me.

  4. Been there so many times, and it never gets any easier. Still … the memories of all the wonderful times make it worthwhile and keep them close in our heart. In October we had to say goodbye to our Pandi and some nights I swear I can still feel her jumping up on my bed. Hugs, my friend.

      1. It always does, my friend. At one time, we had ten — all rescues with a variety of problems both physical and mental — and now we’re down to just four. So sad about Coconut … I know you must have loved her so very much. 💗

        They give us so much love!!! They don’t care what we look like… make-up on or off, fat or skinny, with good or bad haircut! Their tail wags and they are always happy to see us, no matter what!!!! Hugs to you and your fur babies!!!! 💙🐾🐾💙
