Whatever you do
You don’t want to miss
A chance to bear witness
To the total eclipse.
Wear solar glasses
You must be prepared
No need to be frightened
No need to be scared.
The moon and the sun
Will be fully aligned
A few minutes with earth
For just a short time.
Rendering darkness
As if it were night
A shadow will block
The glow of sunlight.
Above the clouds
Up in the sky
A solar eclipse
There before your eyes.
You may need to travel
If it matters to you
To capture the moment
For a much better view.
Whatever it takes
You’ll want to see this
A once in a lifetime
A total eclipse.

I read tonight that motels along the route of the eclipse are raising their rates to capitalize on the event! Motel 6, basically a fleabag, has raised their one-night rates from $95 to over $900!!! Sheesh!

Absolutely! Just like corporations took advantage of the pandemic to gouge us and profited immensely! I’d sleep in my car before I would rent a hotel room if I had to travel just to see the eclipse. Luckily, I’m already in the path, though I think it’s probably going to be cloudy that day!
