AGING

Hold my hand, I’m frightened
I have lost control
Aging is no picnic
I have gotten old.

A cry for help …. for mercy
Is falling on deaf ears
It’s been this way for quite awhile
It’s bringing me to tears.

My body now has failed me
I need help to find my way
Everyone around me
Has turned and walked away.

Can’t make it to the bathroom
Can’t stand to wash my hair
I need so much assistance
I now need nursing care.

Worried I will lose my house
My children’s sole inheritance
No one listens, no one cares
I’ve lost my sense of relevance.

Insurance plans you pay into
Are simply not enough
I’m tired and I am weary now
I’m ready to give up.

Sit with me….please, hold my hand
Help me to ufind a way
I need the strength to make it through
Another stressful day.
