SOMEONE I USED TO KNOW

You’ve taken me to dinner
Then taken me to bed
You never said I love you
I’m now filled with deep regret.

After three months as your lover
I assumed it meant something
But, heard you had a party
And, you didn’t invite me

Said we were exclusive
Should I assume that’s not the case?
Are you on the prowl, out looking
Are you focused on the chase?

You said that we should take a break
That sounds all right with me
I’m tired of being used by you
My friends and I agree.

So , if you see me…. out and about
Don’t walk over to say, “Hello”
I have nothing more to say to you
You’re just… someone I used to know.
