Thoughtless and selfish
So unaware
You wonder, you ponder
How could they dare?

Their mind’s in the clouds
They can’t see the light
So sure, so decisive
They’ve got to be right. 

No second thoughts
No time in my shoes
They’re in the dark
They don’t have a clue. 

Hard to imagine
What they’re thinking of
What is their concept
Their meaning of love?

Pushing ahead 
Forgetting the past
They’ve got to come first
You’re sure to be last.

No time to linger
No time to review
What might be best
What might work for you.

Moving ahead
No time to consider
Your time or your needs 
When you are together.

You hope and you pray
You wish they could see
Stop thinking about 
Themselves, constantly.

You give them a pass
You rationalize
You don’t want to argue
So you compromise.
