HOW DARE YOU

How dare you tear down the east wing
Build a ballroom in its place
You’re destroying years of tradition
You have no right, no class, or taste.

Ordering the demolition
Of part of the people’s house
If it’s not a crime, it should be
Wish that you would just move out.

No required building permits?
Exempt from the Preservation Act
No federal laws to stop you
Someone’s always got your back.

The rules and regulations
Just don’t apply to you
The court gave you immunity
A crazy thing to do!

Million dollar donors
Throwing money at your feet
For a  90,000 square foot
Obscene monstrosity.

Have they read the Constitution?
Have they heard of emoluments?
You’re not supposed to accept gifts
Not while you’re president.

What’s with Apple and with Google?
What in turn do they expect?
Why would they give you money
To advance this vile project?

They are guilty, they’re enablers
Empowered by money and greed
Their goal to acquire your favor
While destroying our democracy.

So the rich will have their ballroom
Their tuxedos and evening gowns
They’ll be served expensive dinners
More than enough to go around.

In the image of Mar- a – Lago
The Whitehouse will soon be changed
It’s character and purpose
Will no longer be the same.

  1. Government employees working without pay (like my military son-in-law with my daughter expecting their second child in December) – or being flat-out fired, millions stripped of health care, and this buffoon is allowed to build a BALLROOM? I don’t even recognize this country anymore.
