THE HUNGRY SEAGULL

High upon the rooftop
Sat a seagull ….  all alone
His feathers somewhat ruffled
His intentions were unknown.

Carrying his tray of food
A man walked from the bar
With no concerns or worries
He didn’t have to walk too far.

When heading toward his table
To his horror and surprise
A seagull on a mission
Grabbed his burger and his fries.

He swooped  down from the rooftop
A stealth maneuver, low and tight
So unexpected ….. the crowd, aghast
As the seagull took a bite.

There dangling from his long, orange beak
Was the seagull’s new found lunch
A burger, some onions and  a few french fries
On a toasted, sesame seed bun

Once the dust had settled
Everyone began to laugh
“Did you see that?  He stole his lunch!
He grabbed it so darn fast!”

Unable to contact the bird police
All the man could do was sigh
The hostess then cautioned her clientele
Hang on to your burgers and fries!
