LOUD AND CLEAR

Don’t chase the one that hurt you
Who poured salt into your wounds
The one who simply used you
You were chosen, prepped and groomed.

Every rib she broke, she crushed you
Laid her hands all over you
Made promises she’d never keep
Left you scarred and badly bruised.

Mesmerized, yes captivated
By the charm that she possessed
So easily persuaded
Trusted everything she said.

Like a serpent in the garden
She slithered  in, moved to and fro
She was poison from the onset
You simply didn’t know.

But, once the door is locked ….. for certain
You have to take the hint
She no longer needs you
You won’t be seeing her, again.

Walk away, you don’t need closure
Her response is loud and clear
If she wanted to be with you
She’d be with you, standing here.

The stove is hot, don’t touch it
The fire ….bright, the flame so high
It’s  impossible to reignite
A love that’s passed you by.
