Rain upon the window pane
A somewhat gloomy day
Leaves rustling, spiraling
The sky above is gray.
It’s cold, I’ll wear my sweater
On the stove …. a pot of soup
Perhaps a loaf of crusty bread
Enough to share with you.
Another log upon the fire
The golden embers glow
Another drop in temperature
And the rain will turn to snow.
The dog asleep, so comfortable
Lying on the floor
Watching her relaxed and still
I am lucky, that’s for sure.
Sitting back upon the couch
With a blanket on my lap
Once I’m finished with my book
I might just take a nap.
A gentle day, so cozy
It was such a busy week
Feels so good to just relax
Feels like heaven, yes ….. to me.
