SHE GOT AWAY

She got away,
Slipped thru your fingers
Thoughts of her
Will forever linger.

Once in a lifetime
Never again
You’ll never hold her
It’s come to an end.

So many encounters
Relationships
So many women
Lasting friendships.

But, that special someone
The love of your life
Is with someone else
He made her his wife.

You’ll go to your grave
Your heart on your sleeve
They’ll be regret
You’ll cry and you’ll grieve.
