MAKE A CHANGE

We’re all sitting here
The music’s too loud
Everyone’s talking
The roar of the crowd.

The stares from a stranger
The smell of bad food
Too much beer and alcohol
The jokes stale and crude.

The forced conversations
The winks from the bar
They watch from a distance
You stay where you are.

Too many people
Lonely and sad
Are venting hostility
Because they’re so mad.

Resenting their spouses
Hating their jobs
No courage to change things
They whine and they sob.

Intoxicated
And out of control
Can’t get it together
The same story gets told.

Time to change focus
Get out of this game
You need some direction
Not more of the same.

Read a good book
Check out the museum
Make some new friends
Change what you’re doing.
