SUMMERTIME FUN

Summer breezes, lemonade
Iced tea and watermelon
Burgers sizzling on the grill
Hope raindrops don’t start falling.

Grab the towels, awnings up
Getting ready for a downpour
Hoping it will pass us by
It’s not what we had planned for.

Bring the salads up to the porch
The chips, and paper dishes
Hoping we can still have fun
Maybe the storm will miss us.

Hotdogs, chili, pickles and more
Put on your bathing suit
Someone turn the music back on
Put out the cookies, and fruit.

Children running, dogs are barking
The sprinklers came back on
Everyone feels a sense of relief
The dark clouds are now gone.

Summertime fun, laughter and games
Backyard picnicking with friends
Everyone is happy now
The sun is shining once again.
