STABBED IN THE BACK

Stabbed in the back
YOU SAID I’D PAY

Betrayed, deceived
YOU’D FIND A WAY

Removed the blade
THAT DREADFUL DAY

Watched me bleed.
THEN WALKED AWAY.

No hint or warning
No sad goodbyes
Never saw it coming
Didn’t scream or cry.

Friends and lovers
I never knew
Never saw that side
That side of you.

Dark and complex
Filled with rage
Seething with anger
Cold and depraved.

Unable to move
To cry out for help
Unable to try
To defend myself.

The room became dark
I closed my eyes
Then heard you whisper,
“You’re going to die”!

Sirens and lights
The knock on the door
That’s where they found me
Passed out on the floor.

Stabbed in the back
YOU SAID I’D PAY

Betrayed, deceived
YOU’D FIND A WAY

Removed the blade
THAT DREADFUL DAY

You watched me bleed.
THEN WALKED AWAY.
