ONE LAST TATTOO

I waited for you
To make up your mind
I waited for you
For such a long time.

There in the wings
Ignored, pushed aside

I waited around
But you played me, you lied.

You led me on
Pushed me to the edge
Begged me to jump , you said baby please please
Jump from the ledge.

I should’ve known

Where this would lead

You stood over me

As you watched me bleed.

The sound of the gun
The needle, the ink
No second thoughts

No time to think.

The sting and the fire

Burns thru my skin

I can feel the vibration

Again and again.

Can’t wipe it away
No I can’t forget
It’s there to stay
The pain and regret.

Your name in ink
A banner….  a shield
No way you could know
Just how I feel.

One last tattoo

Memories of you

Just one last tattoo
To remind me ….

Remind me of you.

  1. Iโ€™ve read through a few of your poems – so intense! BUT i do love them. (Makes me want to just beat the crap out of the one/ones the poems are directed at… hahaha) And too afraid to ask if this is real time or just a way to express. Especially the poem about the sirens and stabbing. Makes my heart break.

    1. Hi! Well…. some truth/some fiction….mixed with a whole lot of fantasy! STABBED IN THE BACK, inspired by a phone call that I received …from an old friend, yesterday. A welcomed trigger! Thank you so much for your comments!!!!!
Just discovered your blog, too! Love your short stories!!!!! ๐Ÿ’™

  2. I like this one especially.
Tattoos are like scars they donโ€™t go away but rather fade with time and wrinkles. Those who get tattoos tend to do so, as to not forget.
