SILVER AND GOLD

Out for the bounty
Since the day we first met
Fill up your pockets
Take all you can get.

A false sense of trust
The pattern, the weave
You’ll take what you want
You’re seething with greed.

You’ll smile and you’ll grin
You’ve done this before
There won’t be enough
You’ll always want more.

Selfish ambition
Your motive, your goal
You’re looking for treasure
The silver, the gold.

A shiny new toy
Will soon catch your eye
You won’t think twice
Before saying…. goodbye.
