SOMEONE ELSE

All the way home I cried and cried
But you really didn’t care
I knew it when I saw your face
That cold and empty stare.

We sat there in silence
Nothing  mattered much to you
No hand to hold, to comfort me
There was nothing I could do.

I wanted to reach out… to talk
But  never made a sound
Knew that there was someone else
Someone else that you had  found.

I heard you on the phone with her
I could hear your voices muffled
You thought I was asleep , I’m sure
I knew I was in trouble.

I laid awake, tears in my eyes
You came to bed just after three
Thought I could  find the words to say
That might bring you back to me.

But, there was nothing more to say
I didn’t move or make a  sound
Didn’t matter who she was
This new girl that you had found.
