IT FELL APART

The stars and the moon
Fell from the sky
It all fell apart
Before my eyes.

Unable to bargain
To change your mind
Realizing now
You’re no longer mine.

You hold her hand
Kiss her good night
Tell her you love her
While holding her tight.

There was no one protection
No chance to save face
You slipped away
You made your escape.

Tickets for two
One seat left empty
I had no clue
That you would leave me.

All of our friends
Now picking sides
Wondering why
We didn’t try.

Feeling betrayed
Lost and alone
Facing the truth
You’re not coming home.
