A WINTER WALK

A winter walk
Coats and gloves
Boots and scarves
Grey sky above.

Cloudy and dark
Expected to rain
Perhaps it might
Just snow again.

Corduroy pants
A flannel shirt
A sweater, a vest
And my leather purse. 

A cup  of hot chocolate
With added cream
The ice on the trees
The glimmer, the sheen.

A walk thru the park
A cold winter’s day
I sat on a bench
Watched the squirrels run and play.

Out and about 
A walk on my own
Nice to get out 
Soon… heading back home.
