GOING DOWN

Click , click
Handcuffs
Click , click
Where’s her stuff?

Read your rights
Look where you are
In the back
Of a squad car.

Police reports
Said you were there
What’s in your pockets?
You still scared?

Central booking
Will take some time
What were you thinking?
What’s on your mind?

Sitting there
Behind bars
Always known
You won’t get far.

Stripped searched
Mouth shut
You try and talk
They say, “enough”.

Rights are gone
You should’a known
What were you thinking?
Now, you’re alone.

Old ladies?
Were you for real?
Was it worth it?
Why did you steal?

Were you hungry?
Was it for fun?
Good thing… no weapon
Good thing… no gun.

You’re going down
Might get a plea
I would confess
If it were me.

Six months
Probably more
Since you’ve been thru
This all before.
