GET OUT

via Daily Prompt: Toxic

Toxic

This relationship is toxic
It’s poisoning my heart
I have to get away from you
We simply have to part.

All your lies and cheating
Have more than taken their toll
I can’t believe anything you say
This sad story’s gotten old.

Coming in at 4 a.m.
After partying with your friends
You’ve pushed the envelope way too far
And, now this is the end.

Not interested in your explanations
Your half-baked truths and lies
Don’t bother with those crocodile tears
Or your see-thru alibis.

Pack your bags, grab your coat
Head on out the door
Don’t waste your time trying to explain
I’m not listening anymore.

I’ve so totally had it with you
Don’t bat those eyes at me
It won’t do you any good
Just get out and let me be.
