GRANNY LEE

I dusted off my old guitar
Wrote a song about my lady
Every word I sang was from my heart
She is my love, she is my baby.

We cuddle by the fire at night
We walk along the beach
We stand shoulder to shoulder, day to day
There’s no star that we can’t reach.

Every move and every word she says
Makes me stop and realize
The love that she has given me
Brings tears to these old eyes.

A mother and grandmother
“Granny Lee” I hear them say
She rocks them till they fall asleep
And at night I’d hear her pray.

God take care and bless my kids
Their own and all you shelter
Give me the strength to hold my own
To be there and never falter.

A good woman’s a treasure, worth more than gold
Each day that passes by
I appreciate just what I have
And will till the day I die.
