SOLITAIRE

Senior citizen discounts
Coffee at half price
Baristas who aren’t snobby
And always treat you right.

Sitting by the window
Passing time away
Trying to forget the day
The day you passed away.

The hands upon my shoulders
The well wishes I received
The sympathy, the condolences
I still need time to grieve.

Together for four centuries
Three kids,  four dogs and  a cat
We were really happy
I’ll never forget that.

The dust has finally settled
Our grown children all gone home
Now I sit all by myself
I sit at home alone.

My daily walk to the cafe
Gives me something I can do
Gives me purpose,  gets me dressed
Though  I wish I was with you.

Wish you were here  with me , now
It’s so hard to be on my own
I sit and sip my coffee
While playing Solitaire on my phone.

  1. ahhhhh thanks for sharing this ❤ We are here with you virtually and in spirit, you are not alone x!

BTW, I just finished reading "Freedom from the known" by Jiddu Krishnamurti, I highly recommend it!
