A MOTHER’S PLEA

A respite from the madness
A break,  a short reprieve
Can’t you see what’s happening?
A refrain is what I need.

Can’t take the stress and pressure
I’m not blaming this on you
But, can’t you show some mercy
For the pain we’re going through?

The lying and deception
The persistent thoughtlessness
We need to come together
To fill the emptiness.

Greed and selfish motives
Are tearing us apart
A lack of trust and honesty
Will not mend our broken hearts.

Tired of the excuses
Comments harsh and rude
We have to try and find a way
There are things we  need to do.

We have to find the courage
Through the sadness and the  tears.
Find the strength within our hearts
To cast aside our doubts and fears.

Let’s try to come together
Let’s try and see this through
One last time, one last thing
He needs us both to do.
