HALF PAST THREE

Can’t stop my heart from racing
I want to calm back down
But when I see you, can’t help myself
My feet come off the ground.

I see you from a distance
You never look at me
But, I’m the one that’s standing there
Every day at half past three.

You come in for your coffee
I make it special … just for you
An extra shot of expresso
With a hint of cinnamon, too!

I write your name on your cup
Carefully I write each letter
EMILY, I often say aloud
Wish that we could be together.

Don’t see  a ring, I wonder why
Could you live alone?
Wish that I could go with you
Wonder if you’re going home.

But, you don’t seem to notice me
Never say more than,  “Hello”
You just take your Macchiato
In a medium cup …. to go.

      1. Hi, Maria! I like Starbucks’s Caramel Macchiato. I don’t drink coffee everyday. I don’t drink it in the morning, either. I like to have coffee once in a while…. always a flavored coffee. For me … coffee is more like a dessert. My beverage of choice is an Iced Tea.
How about you? Do you drink coffee?
