PROVOKED

Courting a guest
From a foreign land
From France or from Europe
From Greece or Pakistan.

There’s a  need for decorum 
A  need to be polite 
Not a place to be explosive
Start an  argument or fight.

Filmed on Television 
The press there…standing by
Zelenskyy was provoked 
By JD Vance’s lies.

Trump on the attack
Ready to defend
Putin and his army
Against Zelenskyy’s men.

As an obvious opportunist
Desiring precious metals
Lithium and Uranium
Titanium and Nickel.

Trump  put forth a deal
While Zelenskyy asked for security
But trump has no desire
To help enforce a promised treaty. 

Standing behind Russia
Clearly on Putin side
Everything he says
Is nothing but a lie. 

A sad, embarrassing encounter
Intended to make peace
Between two warring countries
To ensure that they’ll be free.

Ending in disaster
For Trump it’s all a game
Pointing fingers at Zelenskyy
When Putin is to blame. 

The deal master easily flustered
JD Vance was impolite
Challenging our visiting President 
Doing what he could … to start a fight. 

Zelenskyy shocked, maybe confused
Was escorted to his car
Never would have expected this
This takes the cake by far.

Embarrassed for Zelenskyy
Can’t believe we’ve come to this 
Getting rid of Donald Trump & friends 
My hope, my fondest wish!

  2. I’m old enough to remember a time in another century when this country’s leaders were people to look up to, respect, and write book reports about, regardless of political affiliation. Now they’re just a bunch of bad actors in a bad reality TV show we can’t change the channel from… and the children are watching. 😒😒
